We invite you to come play with us for a weekend in the Adirondacks...  Mother Nature has blessed us with plenty of snow and we are planning two wonderful opportunities to enjoy it!  We have reserved two cozy Adirondack cabins for our weekend adventures.  Play in the snow, explore new areas, share tales by a bon fire, relax when you feel the desire... COME... BE... ENJOY!

Our base for the January's weekend will be at the Naturalist Cabin in Childwold, NY with accommodations for up to 6 people.  There are two private bedrooms and a loft for sleeping quarters.  This quiet "out-of-the-way" location offers plenty of places for snowshoe adventure.  We'll be "off the beaten path" for sure!  Snowshoe treks will be leisurely paced as we make our own tracks through the open woods.  Plan to arrive anytime after 3:00 PM on Friday with departure by 2:00 PM on Sunday.  We anticipate a full moon during the week so a Moonlight Snowshoe is planned for those feeling up to the experience.  Later arrivals are welcome, as are folks who would like to join us during the day only.

The February Winter Weekend will be hosted in Newcomb, NY over the President's Day Week.  Tamarack is a cozy log cabin overlooking the Hudson River.  From there we have easy access to some wonderful snowshoe & x-c ski destinations.  The Adirondack Park Agency's Visitors Interpretive Center (VIC) in Newcomb offers programs daily and is minutes away.  Santanoni Preserve is also nearby, a nice place for a x-c ski jaunt.  Tamarack Cabin will accommodate 4-6 people.  There is a group sleeping space downstairs with 3 beds and a loft bedroom with a queen bed.  Again, snowshoe treks will be leisurely paced.  X-C skiing is optional.  Plan to arrive at the cabin anytime after 12:00 PM on Saturday with departure by 2:00 PM on Monday.  Alternate sleeping arrangements may be available at a nearby B&B for an additional fee for those who prefer a private room.  Advance reservations would be necessary.  Later arrivals are welcome, as are folks who would like to join us during the day only.

Snowshoes, daypacks & any necessary instruction will be provided both weekends before heading out to play in the snow.  X-C ski rentals are available for those who desire such for an additional $20/rental/day for the February Weekend.  Plan to spend time around a bon fire as well as around a cozy, warm stove.  Fireside hot beverages & snacks will be waiting for us when we return from playing each day.  Possible weekend activities include various board & card games, a movie (Naturalist Cabin), a visit to the Newcomb VIC (Tamarack Cabin) and/or time to relax.  Turn in for the night when you feel the urge.

Packages include:

2-nights of shared lodging **
hearty home-cooked meals, hot beverages & snacks
snowshoes & day packs
leisurely guided snowshoe treks throughout the weekend (with instruction as necessary)
optional X-C ski outing (February weekend)
fireside social & relaxation time
bon fire & optional evening moonlight or headlamp snowshoe experience

** The private rooms at The Naturalist Cabin OR the loft at Tamarack Cabin can be reserved by couples on a first come, first serve basis.  Singles may inquire about such for an additional fee.  Private rooms may also be available at a nearby B&B or motel for an additional fee to those who desire such.  Advance reservations are a must!!  All meals are at the cabin.
