Bog River-Lows Lake Canoe Camping, Hiking & History
July 5-7, 2017 (2-nights) - WOMEN'S TRIP
September 27-30, 2017 (3-nights)
May 16-19, 2018 (3-nights)

The Bog River-Lows Lake area offers a variety of paddling and hiking options with many islands, sandy beaches, open ridges, floating bogs, and remnants from the days of A. A. Low. This is a unique area to explore with a rich history from the days of Low's industrial dynasty 1892-1912. His operations have made possible our enjoyment of this waterway and surrounding lands. Many foundations, tote roads, old railroad beds and other evidence from Lows days are around for the finding and we are happy to share what we have discovered, along with its history with those who join us. Side trips include optional short hikes including one to an open ridge overlooking Hitchins Pond and the Bog River area. This offers a spectacular view on a clear day. Another to the Maple Valley evaporator site where maple syrup was produced. If conditions allow we plan to visit the site containing the cisterns where spring water was bottled. Paddling options from Lows Lake include a visit to Grass Pond located on the northwest end of Lows Lake and a meandering paddle up the Bog River to Bog Lake. Space is limited to 4 people per trip. Essex Lakes Canoe Camping Trip
September 19 & 20, 2017 (1-night)

The Essex Lakes offers opportunities for paddling, camping, biking, horseback riding and hiking. The area is remote, scenic and peaceful. The ride in to the access for the lakes is a long one! Spending a night or two allows more time to explore the beauty of the area. We have enjoyed viewing loons, beaver, deer and a variety of flora on previous trips. There is the option to add a day for biking to the July trip. You can bring your own bike or rentals are available in Newcomb. We will take care of obtaining the camping permit and provide Hornbeck Boats plus whatever else is necessary for camping gear and meals. Space is limited to 4 people per trip. Click here to make reservations for a trip. Contact us if you would like information.

Lake Lila Canoe Camping Trip
July 19 & 20, 2017 (1-night) - FULL
Aug 1 & 2, 2017 (1-night)

Paddle, hike, relax... that's the agenda for our trip to this popular paddling destination. There will be the option for a 3.2 mile RT hike to an open outlook on Frederica Mt. This outlook offers an unequalled view of Lake Lila and the surrounding wilderness area. Optional paddles possibilities are exploration of Shingle Shanty Brook, and a short section on the Beaver River. Lake Lila is another of the premier paddling destinations in the Adirondacks. Space is limited to 4 people per trip. Click here to make reservations for a trip. Contact us if you would like information.

July 5-7, 2017 (2-nights)
July 25-77, 2017 (2-nights) - WOMEN'S TRIP

Sept 22-24, 2017 (2-nights) - WOMEN'S TRIP

These trips provide opportunities to visit a few glacial ponds in the St. Regis Wilderness area. For the 2 and 3 night trips, we have two different routes planned, each as an end-to-end journey. The 2-night trip end-to-end option will be along the classic "Seven Carries" route. The 3-night end-to-end trip will start at Little Clear Pond and follow the "Nine Carries" route through the remote Fish Pond area ending at Long Pond. Each of the ponds in the St. Regis Wilderness has a different character and most are inhabited by loons. All routes are scenic and we'll travel at a leisurely pace enjoying all there is to see and experience along the way. A 2-night in & out trip is planned to St. Regis Pond. The put-in will be at Little Clear Pond with camping on St. Regis Pond two nights. Optional paddles from St. Regis Pond include pond hopping to Green, Little Long, Bear & Bog Ponds. There are also optional hiking options to Ochre and Fish Ponds. There are two options for our 1-night trips. One location is Long Pond with paddles planned to Slang, Turtle & Pink Ponds. Optional hikes from Long Pond include Mountain Pond and and Long Pond Mt. The other location is to St. Regis Pond with exploration of Little Clear, Green, Little Long and Bear Ponds. We will be pond hopping on all of these trips. Expect a few short carries along our route for the 1 & 2-night trips. The carries on the 3 & 4-night trips are longer as the ponds are more remote. Space is limited to 4 people per trip. Click here to make reservations for a trip. Contact us if you would like information.
