Backpacking Trips in the Other Destinations
Appalachian Trail (AT) Backpack & Hike Trip -
April 16-22, 2017
Join us for 5 days of spring hiking and backpacking in the central section of Shenandoah National Park. The
trek is planned along a section of the Blue Ridge
crest on the Appalachian Trail between Swift Run Gap and Thornton Gap. The "off season" is a good time of year for this trip which meanders through the most
widely used part of the Park. This is a very scenic section of trail following the main crest of the Blue Ridge. The pace will be leisurely allowing time to
enjoy the gorgeous views from the many summits, rock outcrops and overlooks along the way. There's options for side trips to a waterfall or two as well. Expect
spring conditions with spring flowers emerging, leafless trees and no bugs. This trip is best for those with some backpacking experience. Daily treks will range
between 6.5 to 9 miles. One should be in good physical condition to enjoy the journey. Space is limited to 4 people. There are two spaces left. Reservations
necessary by March 26, 2017. Thank you.
